Pain Syndromes
When pain persists more than a month or two, it can become chronic.
You may have been diagnosed with arthritis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, myalgia, or any of the neuropathic pains like trigeminal neuralgia, neuropathy, or spinal nerve injury. Maybe your type of pain has not been diagnosed. The modern medical approach is to suppress the symptoms with narcotics or drugs that are harmful to your liver and kidneys and that don’t get to the cause.
Dr. Carter’s approach is to use regenerative therapies like Prolo, Prolozone, PRP, along with a plan for decreasing inflammation, and utilizing low dose naltrexone for certain pain syndromes.
Conditions that benefit from Prolozone and PRP are:
- Torn and damaged tendons or ligaments
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Degenerative Joint Disease
- Muscle strain
- Tendinosis
- Ligament sprains and strains
- Sports injuries
- Joint injuries
- Chronic synovitis
- Knee, ankle, elbow, or hip injuries
- Back, neck, or rib pain
- Joint pain
- Temporomandibular joint dysfunction
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
We also offer cell matrix therapy to promote healing and regeneration. Extracellular matrix from Mesenchymal cells, Placental cells and Wharton’s jelly supports compressibility, flexibility, cushioning, and tensile strength. This encourages healthy mechanical activity of your joints and tissue which may support repair.
PRP rely’s on the body’s own available resources to support repair to the sight of injury, so it is a great treatment for younger people. However, as people age, their body no longer carries an abundance of natural bio-materials that healthy support needs to take place. Structural tissue extracellular matrix is dense with bio-materials that support the mechanical activity of joints and tissue therefore encouraging the repair especially in our older patients.
